Searching for where to buy research peptides in the UK returns a page of near-identical storefronts. Same compounds, similar prices, a purity claim, a vial photo. The differences that decide whether the material on your bench is what the label says are almost never visible on the product page. This guide sets out how the UK market is structured, what actually separates suppliers, a scorecard you can apply to any of them, and Alphex's own answers to each question so you can hold us to the same standard.
The three kinds of "UK" research peptide supplier
1. UK-registered, UK-stocked, independently tested
A UK company holding physical stock in the UK, dispatching by domestic courier, with each batch tested by a named third-party laboratory and a batch-matched COA available before purchase. Delivery is next day. Customs is not a factor. This is the smallest group.
2. UK-fronted, overseas-fulfilled
A UK domain and UK-facing website, sometimes a UK company, but the parcel is dispatched from outside the UK by the manufacturer or a bulk supplier. Delivery runs two to four weeks, parcels are exposed to customs inspection, and the COA (if any) is typically a manufacturer document that may or may not correspond to the batch you receive. This is the largest group, and it is not always obvious from the website which group a supplier is in.
3. Marketplace and social sellers
Individuals or small operations selling through marketplaces, messaging apps or social media. No company registration, no batch record, no recourse. Not a procurement option for any laboratory with governance requirements.
What actually separates suppliers
Price varies less than you would expect across the first two groups. What varies is everything behind the price:
- Where the parcel ships from. Determines delivery time, customs exposure and cold-chain risk.

- Whether anyone answers. A named contact who replies within working hours versus a web form.

In our experience most suppliers in the UK market answer yes to between four and seven of the twelve. The questions most often failed are 1, 3, 5 and 12. Is it legal to buy research peptides in the UK?

How do I know a supplier's purity claim is real?
Ask for the COA of the batch in stock, check the batch number against the vial when it arrives, and look for the chromatogram, the mass spec result and the name of the issuing lab. If any of those is missing, the number on the product page is unverifiable.
Why does UK stock matter?
Delivery in a day rather than weeks, no customs exposure, and material that has not spent a fortnight at ambient temperature in transit. It is also the clearest single indicator that the supplier is a UK operation rather than a storefront.
What does "research use only" mean?
The material is supplied as a chemical reagent for laboratory research by qualified researchers. It is not authorised for human or veterinary use and the supplier does not provide any information about such use.
Can I get the COA before I order?
