How to request a COA before ordering
How to ask, what you receive, how quickly, what happens if the batch turns over, and how to verify the certificate with the laboratory.
The Certificate of Analysis for any Alphex product is available before you order, for the batch currently in stock. This is deliberate: a certificate you can only see after paying is a certificate you cannot use to decide. This note explains how to request it, what you will receive, how quickly, and what to check when it arrives, so that procurement review or a PI's sign-off can happen before an order is placed. All Alphex products are for laboratory and in-vitro research only.
How to request
- On any product page, use the "Request the in-stock batch COA" link in the specification table, which prefills the contact form with the product name. Or go to the contact form directly and name the compound and size.
- Alternatively email lewis@alphex.co.uk with "COA request" and the compound in the subject line.
- Say if you need a particular format (PDF is standard) or if the request is for a procurement or ethics submission, so we include anything they typically ask for.
What you receive
- The Certificate of Analysis for the batch currently in stock for that compound: batch number, test date, issuing independent laboratory and report reference, HPLC purity at 220 nm with the chromatogram and integration table, ESI-MS identity with theoretical and observed mass and the spectrum, salt form, storage.
- The specification for the compound (also on the product page).
- On request: a product safety summary or SDS for chemical inventory purposes, and confirmation of the batch's vialling date.

How quickly
Usually within the working day; often within the hour. The certificate exists before the batch is listed, so there is nothing to generate; we are matching your request to the batch in the freezer and sending the file.
Batch turnover between request and order
If the batch you were sent sells out before your order ships, the vials you receive are from the next verified batch, with its own certificate, which we enclose and email. The specification is the same; the batch number, date and traces are the batch's own. Verifying the certificate
The laboratory's name and report reference are on the certificate. We authorise the laboratory to confirm to any purchaser that a report was issued for the stated batch; if you would like us to make the introduction, ask. See how to verify a COA with the lab.
Frequently asked questions
Can I get COAs for several compounds at once?
Yes; list them in one request.
Can I get a past batch's certificate?
Yes, by batch number, for any batch we have shipped.
Why isn't the COA simply published on the product page?
Because it changes with every batch and we would rather send the exact current document than risk a stale one being read as current. A public COA library by batch is planned; in the meantime a request takes a minute.
