What a compliant peptide listing looks like

Take any two UK research peptide product pages for the same compound and the difference in what they say, and do not say, tells you a great deal about the supplier behind them. This note describes what a compliant, informative listing for a research peptide contains, what it leaves out and why, and how the Alphex product pages are structured to that standard. It doubles as a checklist for anyone reviewing a supplier. It is general information, not legal advice. All Alphex products are for laboratory and in-vitro research only.

What a compliant listing contains

1. Identity. Compound name, synonyms and development codes, sequence (or a statement that the full sequence is on the COA), molecular formula, molecular weight, CAS number, salt form. Enough for a researcher to know exactly what is being sold and to check it against the certificate.
2. Specification. Purity method and threshold (for Alphex, 99+% by RP-HPLC at 220 nm), form (lyophilised, vial), sizes.
3. Verification. How the batch was tested, by whom, and how to obtain the batch-matched COA before ordering.
4. Handling. Storage temperature, light sensitivity, reconstitution guidance framed for laboratory stock preparation, stability of solutions.
5. Research context. A neutral description of the areas of the published literature the compound appears in, stated as literature, with its limits.
6. Research-use-only statement. Prominent, unambiguous, repeated on the label and invoice.
7. Commercial terms. Stock location, dispatch time, delivery service, price per size, replacement or refund policy.

What it leaves out, and why

• Effects in people. Any statement about what the compound does in humans is a medicinal presentation. See the HMR and research peptides.
• Dosing, cycles, administration. These are use instructions for a medicine, and their presence converts a reagent listing into an unlicensed medicine listing.
• Condition names as targets. "For X" language.
• Testimonials about personal use, before-and-after imagery, lifestyle photography. Presentation aimed at consumers rather than laboratories.
• Invented certifications. "MHRA approved", "pharmaceutical grade", "FDA registered" have no meaning for a research reagent and are misleading. See MHRA and research peptides.
• Fabricated social proof. Star ratings that are not from a review system, "was" prices that never were. UK consumer law (DMCC Act 2024) treats these as unfair practices independently of medicines law.

How Alphex product pages are structured

Each product page (for example BPC-157) carries: title, sizes and live stock; a description of what the compound is; a specification table (compound class, sequence, formula, molecular weight, CAS, synonyms, form, purity and identity method, sizes, storage, documentation, origin and dispatch, intended use); the COA request link; related research notes including the compound guide; and the research-use-only statement. Using this as a checklist

Score a supplier's listing against the seven items above and the six omissions. A listing missing the identity data or the verification route, or containing any of the six omissions, is a supplier to approach with care, and the pattern usually carries through to their certificates.
